Accra, 24 April 2026 – SIIMT University College celebrated its third graduation ceremony, awarding qualifications to 50 students across a range of information technology disciplines. Diplomas were conferred in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering and Data Analytics, alongside Bachelor of Science degrees in Information Technology – all under the college’s affiliation with the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
GTEC Calls for Deeper Industry Partnerships
Prof. Augustine Ocloo, Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), commended the graduands and urged SIIMT to build further on its technology focus and international partnerships.
“The future of Ghana depends not simply on the number of graduates we produce but on how well prepared they are to confront and solve real-life challenges,” Prof. Ocloo said, calling on the college to strengthen industry-based learning, internships and real-world project exposure.
UCC and SIIMT Leadership Address Graduates
Prof. Sarah Darkwa, Dean of Graduate Studies at UCC, encouraged the graduating class to keep learning beyond the classroom: “Stay curious, remain adaptable and continue to seek knowledge.”
Dr. Raju Sonavane, Founder and Rector of SIIMT University College, reflected on the deeper purpose of the ceremony: “Education is not just about earning a degree. It is about building the courage to think, the confidence to act and the wisdom to choose the right path.”
Recognising Excellence
Five best-performing students were recognised with awards during the ceremony, attended by parents, guardians, academia and industry representatives. Since its founding in 2013, SIIMT has continued to blend international and local academic approaches across Cyber Security, Data Science and Information Technology.
